These beautiful old floors are over 120 years old and are often very neglected.

As with Victorian-era floors, they are sometimes hidden from view by other floor covering, such as carpet, laminate and occasionally, in extreme instances, by other hard floors.

As these old floors do not have damp proof membranes, they have inherent moisture present in the subfloor. Therefore, issues from being covered can result in moisture-related damage, structural movement and cracked damaged or loose tiles.

Also, leading to ongoing efflorescence salt staining issues that can be persistent for many years to come. Let us clean, restore, and replace missing or damaged tiles to help restore your floor's original beauty and add value to your Edwardian era home.

To revive these tiles, we carry out any necessary repairs to replace cracked or damaged tiles. Repairing the screed and subfloor where necessary and fixing loose tiles back in place. Once repairs have been completed, we carry out a Low-Moisture Restorative Clean & Seal.

Using gel chemicals and light diamond abrasives to remove years of buildup & old worn coatings.

When we have completed the intensive cleaning process, we can seal the tiles to saturation point with a colour enhancing impregnating breathable sealer. This is very important on old pre-damp proof membrane floors, as they must be allowed to breath.

If properly maintained with a pH-neutral cleaning solution, the sealer can last up to 5 Years.
